Post-Abortive ServicesOver twenty years ago, I found myself to be an unwed pregnant teenager who wanted desperately to turn back the clock. Abortion sounded like such a simple solution to my crisis but soon after had very painful consequences. During that time of my life, I realize I was in a state of shock and my decision was made in haste. I trusted in friends when given the option and relied on the counselor and doctor at Planned Parenthood to help me through this difficult time. I was told that it was a simple, routine procedure and that afterwards my life would return to normal. That was all I needed to hear, so I thought. From that moment on, life was forever changed for me! I can't begin to tell you how empty and numb I felt those first years after I aborted my baby. It was not until I conceived my second child that my emotions began to surface and continue to intensify. I had terrible nightmares and was consumed with guilt. I was so ashamed of myself. No one told me about the overwhelming feelings of loss I would suffer and the enormous void that would linger in my heart. This pain went on until I received Jesus as my personal Savior. God reached out to me with His grace and mercy and began to deliver me from all the anguish. I believe my deliverance was to serve a purpose; which is to minister to women who have experienced the emotional, spiritual, and physical affects of abortion. God desires to heal your broken heart, to free you from your captivity, to release you from your prison of shame, and to comfort you in your mourning. Most of all, He longs to offer you forgiveness. Reconciliation Weekends
If Not For G.R.A.C.E. Reconciliation Weekends offer you a refuge to confidentially work through the process of healing after abortion. In the midst of the setting at The Mansion at Elfindale, you can be comforted to know that others who truly understand are among you. It is our desire to provide an atmosphere where you can experience unconditional love, grace, and forgiveness. Many enter a weekend retreat with the understanding that Jesus has forgiven them but have not realized the depth of grief that has been locked inside for so long. You see, for many women (and men), they recognize their child is gone but they have never felt permission to mourn for him or her. During these weekends, you are given an opportunity to acknowledge your precious child's life by naming your child and writing a letter/poem in their honor. On Sunday, the weekend concludes with a special memorial service to which you are encouraged to invite family and close friends. The tears of sorrow and joy often flow simultaneously as each individual's relationship is restored with God, themselves, their child, and their family. God longs to meet with you and offer you His grace. In other words, we don't deserve it but His love is so amazing that He extends His mercy at times He could have walked away from us. More importantly, He sent His Son Jesus to die for us that we might receive an even greater gift, the gift of eternal life (John 3:16). This is the heart of our ministry - G.R.A.C.E. (God's Riches At Christ's Expenses). For more information about our reconciliation weekends
